What is the Positive Community Norms Campaign?
Most Norwood students consistently make healthy and careful choices when it comes to substance use, demonstrating strong awareness and responsibility in their decisions.
Just the facts.
What’s with the posters?
IMPACT Norwood is excited to introduce our newest Community Norms Campaign, designed to highlight the positive choices our youth are making every day. Across town and in our schools, you’ll begin to see posters and flyers featuring key insights from the most recent MetroWest Adolescent Health Survey, a long-standing, anonymous, and highly trusted tool used by educators and public health professionals to understand student well-being.
So, what did the survey reveal?
The vast majority of Norwood students are making healthy, thoughtful decisions when it comes to substance use. Most teens are choosing to avoid risky behaviors, and that’s an important truth worth celebrating.
A core goal of this campaign is to help correct common misperceptions about “what everyone is doing.” When students and families understand that healthy choices are the norm—not the exception—it strengthens our community and supports continued positive decision-making.
We invite you to take a moment to notice the posters, discuss them at home, and help share the message:
Healthy choices are what most teens are already making.
Thank you for supporting a positive, informed, and connected school community!
